Baywatch is currently filmed in Hawaii. During the time it was shot in LA, they used a variety of beaches. They even used several beaches miles apart for a sequence of scenes that supposedly happened in close proximity to one another. That's show biz! They used public beaches from the South Bay all the way up to Malibu. Are those beaches speedo friendly? Nope. Except for the gay beaches (several spots in Laguna and Will Rogers- just north of Santa Monica-) and Venice (where everything goes), public beaches in So Cal are NOT speedo friendly. Doesn't matter at this time of year, since the water's too cold for swimming. Though there are occasional days in January when it's sunny and warm enough to lay out. Don't know how many dudes you'd see doing that, though.
