I've always been in great shape, so I can't really claim any expertise in LOSING weight. However, I sure as hell know how to stay in shape. Perhaps that is the secret. Don't think of "going on a diet" or trying to "lose weight." Decide what a healthy lifestyle is and live it!

For example, swimming gives you a great workout AND the opportunity to wear a Speedo. Start lap swimming tomorrow...just one lap if you are in really bad shape. Swim five or six times a week and add two laps to your daily workout every week. Before you know it, you'll be swimming a mile a day, burning lots of calories and looking ever better in your Speedo. I can guarantee that your time in the pool will be well spent and before long, you will look forward to your daily workout.

Worried that you will look bad in your Speedo? Don't! Who the hell cares what you look like? You are working out! If someone thinks you look bad, fuck 'em. You are living a healthy lifestyle and that is all that matters.

When it comes to eating habits, simply cut out most of the fat and try to eat smaller portions. Actually, the swimming will help you in this regard. Once a guy starts swimming, he begins to get obsessed with the sport. You will find that you actually WANT to eat healthy foods to maximize your performance in the pool.

Lastly, I would suggest lifting weights. Go for very heavy lifts with plenty of recovery time between workouts. I only lift once a week, which doesn't sound like much. However, I have found that the less frequently I lift, the faster I make progress. In fact, I increase my weights EVERY single workout. This counterintuitive approach has made a big difference in my workouts and allowed me to buff up better than ever. Give it a try. You will be amazed at how much progress you will make in a few months time...especially for how little time you will spend in the weight room! Remember to lift verey heavy weights and increase those weights every single time you workout. I promise...you can do it if you workout LESS frequently. The added muscle mass will help you burn even more calories...even when you aren't in the pool.

Do all those things and I can guarantee that you will look as hot as hell before you know it. However, looking like an adonis will be a mere sidenote. More importantly, you will have gained a whole new lifestyle that is full of energy, optimism and purpose. This approach to "dieting" won't make you feel like you are depriving yourself AT ALL! On the contrary, you will realize that it is merely living your life the way you have always wanted to live it without knowing how. Now is the time to live the life you dream of living. Go for it!
