When I wrote the entry I didn't indicate that the resort is a Desert Resort (though a couple guys did figure the PS stood for Palm Springs) so the beach ideas don't work. Even at a beach resort, going into a restaurant after dark in swim wear is not appropriate. It isn't like walking in off the beach for lunch. At night, the swim day is over and you should be in street clothes. I have worked and traveled in a lot of resort areas both in land and on the beach and in all cases swim wear is not acceptable in a restaurant after dark. Mind you--I am NOT saying bars where anything may go, I am talking about a sit down restaurant catering to family dining. I do agree with you that if you are on the beach and want to walk in for a lunch you shouldn't have to dress (shirts and shoes are always required by health codes. Any establishment located beach front should expect and accept swim wear at lunch.
As a follow up to that entry, the guy did try to make an issue about being discriminated because he was gay. He tried to find a lawyer but no one would take the case (a coupled called us to tell us they laughed him out of their office). He came back with a "formal letter of complaint" that we just filed with our lawyers. On the other hand his friends also called to apologize for his actions and attitude.
As they say, there is a time and place for everything and common sence needs to be the key to knowing if the time and place is appropriate for your actions.
